WHAT TO EXPECT

Laurie Smallwood has a lot of training as a professional groomer and possesses a certificate from the Rochester Institute of Dog Grooming. Laurie also does cat grooming. Laurie does pet sitting on a limited basis. This is limited, because this is not a kennel. The animals live with Laurie as though they were her own while she pet sits, so she pet sits no more that 3 or 4 at a time so she can spend time with and mange them effectively. At night the pets are crated or kept in the entry room of the house.

The shop is in a house that is located out in the country in a beautiful woods setting. You will head down a long driveway that crosses a creek. The entrance to the shop is on the right side of the house. There will be plenty of room to park in the driveway. There is a designated potty spot for your pet.

You will be asked to provide some basics about your pet such as name, birthdate, and medical history.  Pets are expected to be up to date on vaccines and on a flea preventative.  Laurie will discuss with you what services she can provide and how you would like your pet to be trimmed. A picture of the style you prefer is always helpful.  The work will take a few hours so she will discuss with you when to pick up your pet. There is no waiting room located at the shop. You can read about the steps that your pet will experience in “The 6 B’s of Dog Grooming”. Your pet will be in good hands as Laurie is very caring and loving toward animals.
